Western Digital unveils new My Passport and My Book drives worthy of your gear and memories

Western Digital recently unveiled newly designed My Passport and My Book drives. The popular drives went through extensive research and development to get the right design that meets the needs and wants of customers.

Western Digital went to great lengths to design this new generation of devices. The design team traveled the world to better understand how users create and manage content. It partnered with award-winning design and brand firm fuseproject to bring this design to life.

Now finally users have hard drives that look as beautiful as their favorite gear.

My Passport drives have been a long trusted and loved storage solution for users on the go. I know, I’ve gone through many drives but I keep going back to the trusty My Passport line of hard drives. The new design featured a textured bottom with a waistband center. They look sleek and come in six colors: black, yellow, red, white, orange and blue.

While the My Passport is great for users on the go, it may not cut it if you’re like our video team and you need a heftier backup plan for tons of content, you may want to opt for the newly designed My Book. Available in storage capacity up to 8TB. Similarly designed with the textured bottom half, it looks worthy of sitting on your desktop or workstation.

My Passport and My Book drives have built-in password protection with hardware encryption and also includes WD Backup software for automatic backups, though for Mac users My Passport for Mac will be formatted for Mac OS and be ready for Time Machine. So you really don’t have to worry about having to manually back up any files, just let the drives do all the work for you.
