Tesla CEO Elon Musk confirmed yet again on Wednesday that Tesla will have a big announcement tonight. Now we know a bit more about what’s on the table.
Musk just said on Twitter that the discussion, which kicks off at 5 p.m. Pacific this evening, will concern the Tesla Model 3. He suggested the event can be thought of as a “part 2” of the initial announcement, when Tesla first unveiled the Model 3.
@elonmusk This is also what I was alluding to by Model 3 part 2

Tesla Model 3 Part 2
It could mean anything.
Maybe we’ll learn more about the car’s final design, for example. Maybe it will involve production: The Tesla Model 3 was most recently in headlines yesterday, when Tesla said that the newest orders won’t ship until 2018, which might be a turn off for some customers. Or perhaps it will be about the car’s software.
Tesla rolled out Autopilot 8.0 last month, but that seemed more like a bug patch and transition to radar reliance than anything else. Something bigger and better must be coming.
There’s room for plenty of discussion and, indeed, that’s what will follow the event. Musk said there’s a 30 minute press Q&A following the Tesla Model 3 Part 2 announcement.
