World of Final Fantasy‘s demo is now available on the PlayStation 4, and much like Square Enix’s other demos, it provides extra incentive for curious players to play through until the end.
Those who manage to beat the demo will be offered a free “Magitek Armor P” to use in the main game when it launches for the PlayStation 4 and PS Vita next week.
Final Fantasy with a Pokémon twist
I haven’t played the demo yet, mostly because I’m smack in the middle of playing a review copy, but if it’s anything like the demo I played at Tokyo Game Show 2016, you have nothing to fear about spoilers or anything like that. The demo sets up the battle system, explaining how to catch Final Fantasy monsters in orbs and use them to battle other Final Fantasy monsters.
If this sounds anything at all like Pokémon, trust me… it’s just like it.
The most you’ll find story-wise here are a few cameos from the stars of previous games and an introduction to the two leading characters and their annoying guide through the new magical world.
World of Final Fantasy will be released for the PlayStation 4 and PS Vita on Oct. 25.
