2017 DeLorean moves closer to launch

The DeLorean holds a special place in every geek’s heart. If you can’t get an original, you can try to buy one of the new 2017 DeLorean DMC-12 cars that are going to enter production. No, it’s not technically built by the same company, that floundered years ago, but it’s a new version of the car we all know and love.

According to CNET, DeLorean plans to build the just 300 of the cars, and it’ll build them slower than Tesla trying to pump out a new Model 3. The company says it has the capacity to build just one car a month, according to CNET, which means you could be in for a very long wait. At that rate, the 300th car will be built in 25 years. Not exactly the kind of return you want on an investment that might cost as much as $100,000.

2017 DeLorean pre-orders don’t require any cash

CNET said DeLorean hasn’t revealed any of the car’s actual specs, or the price for that matter, so you might want to hold off until those are confirmed, too. The good news is that signing up doesn’t actually require you to hand over any cash, allowing you to worry about the details later.
