Ubisoft and Michel Ancel have been teasing Beyond Good & Evil 2 all week, but it sheepishly danced around a full-on confirmation that the game was in production. The closest we got were references to images about a related game entering pre-production, but nowhere did it outright state that Beyond Good & Evil 2 was the game that was being worked on.
Not anymore, though. Ubisoft Montpellier outright confirms that the game is indeed Beyond Good & Evil in about as simple of terms as it can get.
If you’ve been waiting for news about BG&E… well, here you go! We are delighted to confirm that Michel Ancel is currently working with the Ubisoft Montpellier Studio on a new Beyond Good & Evil game.
It’s worth pointing out that Ubisoft does not refer to the game as “Beyond Good & Evil 2,” but rather, as “a new Beyond Good & Evil game.” Something tells me we’re going to see some work done on the title before it gets released.
We won’t see anything else official on this game for quite some time if it is just entering pre-production now. The previous iteration of Beyond Good & Evil 2 clearly entered pre-production, like, 80 years ago, and look where we are with that now! There’s no guarantee that this new confirmation will pan out, but as long as there is hope, I’m happy.
