The Gears of War themed Xbox One S is pretty incredible, here it is unboxed

As we brace for the launch of Gears of War 4, we received a special edition Xbox One S from Microsoft. Specifically, we received the 2TB covered in red and slash marks edition that features a truly unique look.

I’m not even sure if the pictures do it justice, friends. You can and should flip through the gallery above. I took at least 30 pictures of this beautiful thing.

As is the case with these fancy, game-themed Xbox One bundles, Microsoft went to the trouble to actually create unique startup and shutdown sounds. I went ahead and used my phone to grab video of both for you to enjoy. I couldn’t stifle my laugh on the shutdown bit, so apologies for that. This thing kills me.

What, exactly, does the bundle come with? It’s the HDR video capable Xbox One S that’s included. It also features a 2TB internal hard drive that will serve me much better when it comes to game storage. The bundle includes a code for the Ultimate Edition of Gears of War 4, which will unlock on October 7 instead of the standard October 11, 2016, launch date. The Season Pass is a part of that code, too. It also includes a bunch of fancy in-game goods that are exclusive to the system itself.

Then there’s the controller, which is sort of a beauty in and of itself. It’s part of the gallery above, but here’s a shot of the thing up close.

The console is selling for $449, and you can still pre-order it. If you’re a Gears fan and looking to make a splash into the Xbox One S, this is a darn good way to do it. That 2TB hard drive is absolutely crucial, and this is easily one of the coolest looking themed bundles I’ve used.

If you’re looking for more information concerning the Xbox One S itself, our own Eric Frederiksen reviewed it a few weeks back.
