Daydream View VR headset launches in Nov. for $79

Google unveiled Daydream View during its big hardware event on Tuesday, but it won’t actually launch for another month. The company said its new phone-powered VR headset will be available in gray starting in November for $79, with two more color options launching further down the line.

Daydream View works with Google’s new Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones, along with other Daydream-approved Android phones. It comes with a special motion controller that you can store inside the headset when it’s not in use. It also features a comfortable design that can fit your glasses.

Google’s teaming up with a bunch of companies to bring new content to Daydream View. That includes a new Harry Potter game, 360-degree documentary footage from The New York Times and apps from Hulu and Netflix for viewing traditional content on a giant virtual screen. Of course, Google’s bringing its own apps to Daydream too. That includes YouTube, Street View, Google Photos and Google Play Music.
