Huawei’s 7-inch Google tablet said to pack flagship specs

Rumor has it Huawei and Google are teaming up on a new 7-inch tablet. An earlier leak revealed that the device could pack 4GB of RAM, and a new report adds even more flagship-level hardware to the list.

German site HuaweiBlog reports that the Google tablet will offer high-end specs across the board, citing anonymous insiders in China. That includes a Quad HD display, a Snapdragon 820 processor, 64GB of storage and a 13-megapixel camera. The new leak also reaffirms earlier claims that the device sports a 7-inch screen and 4GB of RAM.

There’s still a lot we don’t know about the rumored tablet. The name is a particularly big mystery, especially with Google allegedly killing off the Nexus brand entirely. It seems likely the device could fall under the Pixel umbrella as a follow-up to last year’s Pixel C (pictured in the gallery up top).

Google is apparently planning a big event for October 4 where we should see the new Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones unveiled. If the company really is working on a tablet with Huawei we’re guessing it will make an appearance at the same time, though we’d still treat this latest rumor with a grain of salt for now.
