Netflix’s latest original movie is a comedy about sports mascots

by Brandon Russell | September 5, 2016

Thankfully, the latest original comedy from Netflix isn’t another Adam Sandler film (though there are more on the way). Instead, Mascots is a movie about sports mascots competing for the chance to win the Gold Fluffy Award.

Mascots was directed by Christopher Guest, director of other mockumentaries like Best in Show and A Mighty Wind. The cast, meanwhile, is full of some of comedy’s biggest stars, including Fred Willard, Jane Lynch, Ed Begley, Jr., and Chris O’Dowd, the latter of whom is referred to as the mascot world’s “bad boy.”

Mascots is scheduled to hit Netflix on Oct. 13.
