I apologize. I take full responsibility for this one. No sooner had our editorial on all the biggest games in September gone up that one of the games got delayed beyond the promised date. Shantae: Half-Genie Hero will no longer be released in September with its release date being pushed back a further six weeks.
Developer WayForward did not provide a date, but it did provide another bit of hefty news. The company confirmed that the previous generation builds for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 had been canceled with only 1 percent of backers opting for them. Priorities had to be put on the modern consoles, so WayForward simply scrapped these two builds altogether.
WayForward promised to make amends for those who would be unable to play the game.
Beyond that, the game’s content has been completed, and WayFoward is using the delay to iron out performance and any bugs that turn up. Is it just me, or is the furor that Mighty No. 9 experienced completely absent from Shantae: Half-Genie Hero? I wonder why that is… nobody seems to mind that WayForward needs an extra few weeks, but all hell broke loose when Mighty No. 9 claimed it did.
No idea. Shantae: Half-Genie Hero will be released probably in November for the PlayStation 4, PS Vita, Xbox One, Wii U, and PC.
