Huawei MediaPad M3 hands-on!

Huawei announced a gorgeous, all-metal, 8.4-inch tablet during IFA today, and we had a chance to get up close and personal with it. The product definitely seems to target the iPad Mini. which, honestly, seems to have dwindled in popularity. Maybe Huawei sees something Apple doesn’t.

The device features dual Harmon Kardon tuned speakers, which sounded loud to me even while trying to cram my way through a crowd just to check it out. The display is certainly sharp and colorful, though seemingly no more so to the naked eye than what we’ve seen on devices like the Galaxy S2 or even the iPad Pro, despite its pixel density.

I did love how thin and light it felt, though, and it seems like it’s perfect for watching a movie or catching up on a book during a train ride. Plus, a starting price under 350 Euros doesn’t hurt. Huawei wasn’t clear if we’ll see it in the U.S., but we’ll let you know if that changes.
