Battlefield 1 beta is playable now on all platforms

Alright, Battlefield fans. The open beta for Battlefield 1 is officially up and available for download on all platforms. This is a multiplayer beta, so don’t expect any of the proposed campaign goodness here.

Those platforms, in case you need a clarification, include the PC (Origin is required), PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The beta is entirely open and free, no pre-orders or fancy codes required at this stage in the process.

The total download on the PC side for me checked in a 7.1GB. Others have reported a 6.1GB size, for what it’s worth.

PlayStation Plus is not required to play the beta for PlayStation 4 owners, but Xbox One players will need an Xbox LIVE Gold account.

The beta doesn’t have an end date yet, though I imagine it’ll close in a week or so. Once that’s announced, we’ll have the news.

Until then, enjoy some World War I themed antics. Battlefield 1 officially releases for the PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on October 21, 2016.
