The PlayStation 4 Slim reportedly supports 5GHz Wi-Fi

Wireless internet on the PlayStation 4 Slim should be a bit faster than what PS4 owners have now.

Sure, we’ve had the lion’s share of pictures and unboxing videos for the leaked PlayStation 4 Slim, but we haven’t had much in the way of actually brand new features.

One such feature has been revealed as Twitter user shortman82 took a picture of his PlayStation 4 Slim’s manual. In it, it’s noted that the PS4 Slim now supports 5GHz Wi-Fi in addition to the previously featured 2.4GHz. That old standard is still available, of course, but those with the networking equipment than boasts the 5GHz band will want to use it.

The best option is still a hard-wired ethernet connection. But, 5GHz Wi-Fi is an alright substitute when a wired line is unavailable.

Hopefully Sony will make its own network speeds better soon. Even with wired, fiber-optic internet, my download speeds are terribly slow.
