Rumor has it Motorola is still gearing up to launch the Moto Z Play, a mid-range modular smartphone meant to join the Moto Z and Moto Z Force. Now a fresh leak appears to show the device with a gorgeous new design in white, along with another version in black.

The images appear to show a device with a glossy back panel, unlike the metallic design on the regular Moto Z. Otherwise, the Moto Z Play looks pretty familiar, with the same Moto Mod pin connectors, protruding rear camera and square-shaped home button. The device is also expected to include a headphone jack, which is missing from the Moto Z and Moto Z Force.
The Moto Z Play may be a bit of a step down in the specs department. It allegedly packs a 5.5-inch 1080p display, a Snapdragon 625 processor, 3GB of RAM, 64GB of expandable storage and a hefty 3,300mAh battery. That should still make for a solid smartphone, even if it’s not all cutting-edge hardware.
We still don’t know when Lenovo plans to unveil the Moto Z Play or whether it will be available here in the U.S. Based on these leaks it looks like the device is pretty much ready to go. So we may get an official look pretty soon.
