No iPhone 7 Pro coming – report

About a year ago, rumors started to suggest that Apple was planning to launch three new smartphones this September, including the iPhone 7, the iPhone 7 Plus and an even higher-end iPhone 7 Pro. Indeed, rumblings of the iPhone 7 Pro have continued even into reports published earlier this week. The iPhone 7 Pro isn’t going to happen, though, Macotakara said Wednesday.

The news may come as a bit of a bummer, at least for those who were looking forward to rumored specs including a Smart Connector port. However, the iPhone 7 Plus (our dummy unit is pictured above) will still pack some features the iPhone 7 won’t, including an advanced dual-camera system, according to most reports.

Macotakara adds that both iPhone 7 models will sport Apple’s new A10 processor, a capacitive home button and, as we’ve heard repeatedly, will not offer a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Apple is expected to announce its new iPhones on September 7.
