Metroid Prime: Federation Force gets a story trailer, and YouTube doesn’t like it

It looks like the ire for Metroid Prime: Federation Force won’t die down anytime soon. The game will release in a week’s time, and fans are still upset that Nintendo’s releasing a new game below the Metroid Prime banner that has nothing to do with Samus.

Take, for instance, the fresh story trailer you see above. It’s fine and dandy, and the gameplay looks fun. That whole “not Samus” thing, though? That’s dragging it way down in popularity.

With more than 56,000 views at the time of drafting this post, the dislikes overwhelm the likes almost two-to-one. Most folks in the comments seem more upset about the fact that Nintendo just forced sites to remove links to a fan remake of Metroid II than anything else.

What do you think? Are fans just being too salty here, or is Nintendo really sitting on a nearly abandoned franchise? Personally? I think it’s been too long since we had a good romp with Samus.

Either way, Metroid Prime: Federation Force will sell for the Nintendo 3DS on August 19, 2016.
