Powers

Sony’s biggest dip into original television content for the PlayStation platform is done. After two seasons, Powers has been canceled.

Creator Brian Michael Bendis tweeted the news:

Bendis clarifies on that “at least for now” bit in a response later, noting that “A powers episode generated over 4.5 million hits on YouTube alone & people BTS who believe in us. we’ll see… [sic].”

Powers was a bit of a mixed bag for me as I watched the first season. I enjoyed the premise, likely because I loved the comics, but the show felt a little too b-tier for my tastes. Which is odd, because normally that stuff doesn’t bug me.

For fans of the Powers show, this stinks. Hopefully it’ll get picked up elsewhere.
