Civilization VI gives Sean Bean a role where he can’t die (probably)

Despite the game’s overhead perspective and turn-based pacing, Civilization is an epic series about the advancement of humankind through the ages. That advancement, shown through the series’ famous tech tree, needs a similarly epic voice behind it. While the late Leonard Nimoy lent his voice to Civilization IV, Sean Bean will do so in Civilization VI.

Each time some research is completed, Bean will provide a historical quote related to the subject.

While Leonard Nimoy has passed away, Sean Bean is as famous for dying in his roles as he is for acting in them, having died in over a third of his performances. Narrating history probably won’t be one of those, but maybe developer Firaxis will throw us a bone and find a way to make it happen.

Civilization VI hits PC on October 21.
