Like every fan of Square Enix designer Akitoshi Kawazu and his underrated SaGa franchise, I’ve been anxiously awaiting any form of news on SaGa: Scarlet Grace. It’s only been a year since the game was first announced and two since it leaked as SaGa 2015, but all this time has seemed like an eternity. The only news we’ve had from the game is a trademark leak in Europe, hinting at a potential localization move from Square Enix.
Other than rumors and speculation, official news on the game has been sparse, screenshots and footage have dried up, and Square Enix’s continued silence on the game is deafening.
Leave it to the outspoken Kawazu to finally crack this stalemate. The developer took to Twitter to hint that more official news would be making its way to us in time for Tokyo Game Show 2016. Translation by Gematsu.
It’s already the end of July. We’re planning to announce various things about SaGa: Scarlet Grace around the Tokyo Game Show in September, so please wait a little longer. From hereon, Square Enix also plans to announce and release a number of titles, but please keep an eye out for SaGa series related news, too. Thank you!
SaGa: Scarlet Grace was supposed to be released for the PS Vita in 2015, but that date obviously has come and gone. We’ll probably have an official date come this September after Tokyo Game Show 2016 wraps up.
