The Nest app for iOS got a big update this week that included an unexpected surprise for Apple Watch owners. The software now support’s Apple’s wearable device, making it possible to tweak the temperature from your wrist.
The new UI is pretty basic with a black background and simple graphics that show temperature. A second screen lets you turn up the heat or cool things down by tapping on up and down arrows. That’s the only Apple Watch feature, at least for now, though the company could add support for some of its other smart home products in the future.
Speaking of which, the new Nest app also includes a bunch of features for Nest Cam and older Dropcam models. The update includes 1080p support for the Dropcam Pro and the option to share a password-protected stream with other people. There’s also a new Spaces feature that groups your cameras and other Nest products by room so you easily see what’s happening around the house.
You can grab the new Nest app (version 5.6.0) via the App Store link below if it hasn’t already automatically updated.
