Last year Samsung unveiled its impressive Gear S2 smartwatch at the IFA trade show in Berlin. Now a new report claims the company will announce a follow-up wearable exactly a year later at this year’s conference.
SamMobile reports that the device is set to debut at IFA 2016. The site also notes that the Gear S3 will sport a rotating bezel just like the Gear S2. That means it should also feature a similar circular display, though hopefully Samsung will still include some notable upgrades.
The Gear S3 isn’t expected to be a huge overhaul, which is fine since we really liked the S2 design. Rumor has it Samsung could be working with Swiss jeweler de Grisogono on a high-end model, though that variant might not actually launch until early next year. The new smartwatch could also sport some internal upgrades, including a faster processor and a bigger battery.
We’ll be covering IFA live from Berlin later this summer, but it’s likely more info on the Gear S3 will leak out before then. Check back soon for the latest info on Samsung’s upcoming smartwatch.
