Three Fields Entertainment co-founder and Burnout creator Alex Ward has confirmed that he and his new studio will be returning to the racing genre.
Work has begun on a driving game.

Ward and his fellow former-Criterion developers split away from EA back in 2014 to carve a new name for themselves, and they re-entered our hearts earlier this year with Destructive Golf, a game that plays a lot like Burnout’s iconic “Crash Mode.” This new racing game is meant to be a “spiritual successor” to the popular driving franchise, and it will be loaded with “speed,” “traffic,” and “lots and lots of crashing.”
I know Burnout Paradise is probably the most popular game in the series, but I really hope that this new game takes it backs to basics. No open-world map and no lingering downtime between races. I’m pointing towards Burnout 3: Takedown as the best place to get back on track… literally.
Three Fields is going to have to make the best racing game of all time if it wants to make a bigger impact than Burnout 3 did.
