No Man’s Sky does not require a PlayStation Plus membership

Most online multiplayer games this console generation require players to pay for a subscription service to either Xbox Live or PlayStation Plus. However, even though No Man’s Sky technically falls into the realm, Sony is going to skip the need for a PlayStation Plus requirement this time around.

According to Game Informer, Sony has confirmed that all you’ll need to play No Man’s Sky is an Internet connection.

PS Plus won’t be a requirement to play online, however you will need to connected to the internet for your discoveries to register with the universal atlas.

No Man’s Sky launches for the PlayStation 4 on Aug 9. The PC version has been delayed three days to Aug. 12.
