This Bluetooth SNES adapter is a must-have

I can’t be the only one who still plays Super Nintendo games. If the NES brought video games to geeks everywhere, the SNES brought gaming to the mainstream. It’s highly regarded as the best system ever, home to some of the best games in the medium, including Super Mario World, The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past and others.

The only inconvenience about playing the system today is how limiting its wired controller can be; sitting five feet from my TV is not fun. Thankfully, Analogue’s new Bluetooth adapter brings the SNES into the modern world, allowing any existing Bluetooth-compatible controller to work with the old system.

Yes, that includes controllers for the PS4, PS3, Wii, and more. Analogue even offers Bluetooth versions of the NES and SNES controllers if you want to keep things old school. And, hey, if you decide you want to get your retro gaming fix on a laptop, you can hook the receiver up to your laptop using a USB cable.

At $24.99, the dongle is a tad expensive. But for anyone looking for a reason to boot up Super Mario World again, this is it. At least until Nintendo’s NES Classic Edition comes out this November.
