The Galaxy Note 7 is set to debut next week and, along with it, we’re also expecting a new Gear VR designed to support the flagship phablet. Now some details on the virtual reality headset are spilling out early thanks to a few eager European retailers.
Several alleged retail listings spotted by tech blogger Roland Quandt reveal a potential price for the new Gear VR along with a list of supported devices.
Samsung New Gear VR (SM-R323) yes, that's what they call it. Fits S6, S7, Note 4, Note 5 and Note 7. listed for 90 Euro at some retailers.

The current Gear VR launched in Europe for €100 (and $100 in the U.S.), though it was available for free with the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge. So it looks like the upgraded headset could get a slight price cut. It also seems likely the virtual reality gadget will come free with early Galaxy Note 7 pre-orders based on Samsung’s recent strategy.
Quandt also notes that the new headset will support not just the Galaxy Note 7 but also the last few generations of flagship Samsung phones all the way back to the Galaxy Note 4. If that’s true, it should offer both USB-C and microUSB support. It could also replace the current Gear VR entirely, offering a one-size-fits-all solution for your Galaxy handset.
The new Gear VR was spotted earlier this month online under the model number SM-R323, but it’s still unclear if Samsung is planning any other major improvements.
