LG unveiled the new Action Cam LTE camera on Tuesday. The Action Cam LTE is a gadget that connects to Wi-Fi, 3G and 4G LTE networks and allows users to stream video right to networks such as YouTube in real-time.
The Action Cam LTE sports a 12.3-megapixel 150-degree wide-angle lens and can live stream HD video up to 30 frames per second. If you’re recording to its 4GB of storage (expandable with a microSD card), you can capture UHD at 30fps, Full HD at 30fps or 60fps, and HD at 30fps/60fps or 120fps. Other features include a dedicated Snapdragon 617 processor, 2GB of RAM, built-in GPS and an IP67 rating.
LG said the action camera can also be used for home surveillance once it rolls out a future software update that enables it to double as a CCTV camera.
The Action Cam LTE, which is technically the latest “Friend” accessory for the LG G5 – though it works with both iOS and Android smartphones – does not currently have a release date or price.
