Two Dragon Quest games in two months! Is this a sign that our planet is going to be okay after all?
Following the Nintendo 3DS release of Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past on Sept. 15, Square Enix will also be cranking out Dragon Quest Builders, the one that takes a majority of its inspiration from Minecraft, nearly an entire month later on Oct. 11.
The game will be available for PlayStation 4 and PS Vita, but Square Enix makes no promises of a cross-buy or cross-save option. A special “Day One Edition” will also include elements not found in the normal game.
The Day 1 edition comes with a voucher code to unlock three exclusive recipes for unique building materials which can be used in Terra Incognita (Free Build) Mode. The recipes are:
- Springtide Sprinkles Recipe — An item that allows you to transform trees into festive Cherry Blossoms and soil into comfortable straw floor blocks.
- Slimy Blocks Recipe — Allows you to craft delightful blocks adorned with cute blue Slimes! (The blocks aren’t actually slimy but they are super cute!)
- Gold Blocks Recipe — Allows you to show off your opulent side with blocks made of pure gold!
Again, Dragon Quest Builders will be released for the PlayStation 4 and PS Vita on Oct. 11. If you’re not up to your shoulders in slimes with Dragon Quest VII at that time, be sure to check it out.
