Brooklyn Apple Store photos: We scoped out the new building

Brooklyn is finally getting its first Apple Store and it happens to be located in the popular Williamsburg neighborhood pretty close to my apartment. After hearing the news this week, I decided to swing by the new building and snap a few photos. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but it turns out the company is already promoting the upcoming Apple Store to the public.

The new Apple Store is located at 247 Bedford Avenue on the corner of North 3rd Street and officially opens on July 30 with a big celebration. It’s also right across the street from a new Whole Foods that’s set to open just a few days earlier. That’s right, my neighborhood is about to get awesome (or terrible, depending on how you feel about those companies).

Apple has been working on the 20,000 square foot space since 2014 and, until very recently, it was covered in scaffolding that obscured most of the building from view. The company clearly had its work cut out for it transforming the old factory, which had previously hosted a bagel store and a few other businesses, into a modern structure. The outside still looks industrial, but Apple actually opted to tear down the old building and start from scratch.

Overall, it looks pretty nice and I’m looking forward to dropping by to see the inside on July 30 at the grand opening. I’ll probably also be stopping by occasionally to check out the latest Apple products now that there’s a store within walking distance of my home.
