LeEco leak teases a new metal phone with dual rear cameras

LeEco may be the next company to join in on the dual rear camera craze. A fresh leak allegedly shows a new LeEco phone with a pair of primary cameras and a pretty unique design.

The images come from Weibo tipster @KJumia (via GizmoChina), who claims they were leaked by a LeEco employee. They show a sleek metal handset with a rear camera module that looks a lot like a smiley face thanks to the positioning of the two lenses and flash. There’s also a fingerprint scanner just below the cameras.

The front of LeEco’s new phone features a beautiful edge-to-edge display with a sloping 2.5D curve on either side. There’s still a pretty chunky pair of bezels above and below the screen, leaving room for some capacitive buttons and a front-facing camera.

It’s possible we could be looking at the Le Max 2 Pro, which is rumored to pack an insane 8GB of RAM and a Snapdragon 821 chip. But earlier leaks showed the device with a single 25-megapixel rear camera and a metal design in silver, blue or red.

It seems more likely this is a totally new LeEco smartphone. Either way, we may learn more pretty soon. The device seems like it’s pretty much ready to launch, though it’s possible this could just be a fake.
