These beautiful wooden Android figures are launching at SDCC

We love Android figures, and there’s a ton of them in various shapes and sizes at the TechnoBuffalo office. We really can’t wait to get our hands on these gorgeous wooden models from Dead Zebra, which already makes some of the best Android figures around.

Each figure is five inches tall and features a unique design thanks to the natural patterns of the regionally sourced white oak and maple wood. It’s covered in a natural shellac and a beeswax finish, giving each one an extremely soft and polished look.

The company has actually been making these wooden figures for a few years already thanks to a partnership with New York toy-maker NoliNoli. But in the past they all went to Google employees and other close friends. Now Dead Zebra is bringing the same Android toys to the public, starting at San Diego Comic Con next week.

If you’re attending the convention, you can stop by Dead Zebra’s booth (Dumbrella #1335) to pick one out for yourself. If not, the company also plans to sell another small batch online later this year.
