Splinter Cell is free this month on PC

Ubisoft is offering up another one of its excellent sixth generation console classics for free through the Ubi 30 anniversary campaign. 30 years of Ubisoft means you can get the original Splinter Cell for free on PC if you go through the official website.

Last month, the company offered Prince of Persia: Sands of Time, and if they go ahead with titles like Beyond Good & Evil, Far Cry, and the two Splinter Cell follow-ups, it’s hard for me to picture anything but that age as Ubisoft’s creative peak. True, that time frame clocks in before the Assassin’s Creed franchise, but each of those games not only still holds up, but they are even better than many of their modern incarnations.

Go back and play Chaos Theory and tell me that the modern day Splinter Cell games are half as deep. Even this first Splinter Cell will leave fans of modern stealth games drenched in their tears of frustration.

Don’t believe me? You can get the game for free all month! Be sure to check it out.
