Samsung is expected to pack the Galaxy Note 7 with lots of new high-end hardware, and it looks like the latest S Pen will be no exception. A company executive recently confirmed that new features are coming to the stylus as well.

The news comes all the way from the top. Samsung’s mobile chief Koh Dong-jin recently spilled the beans to the Korean press. “We have improved ‘Note’ functions this time, upgrading software for user convenience,” he said (via The Korea Herald).

The Galaxy Note 7 is also expected to pack a ton of other new features and specs. That includes an eye scanner, USB-C, up to 6GB of RAM (though recent leaks put it at just 4GB of RAM), and a water-resistant design. It could cost a whopping €849 (about $937) in Europe.

Samsung recently confirmed plans for an event on August 2 where we’ll get our first official look at the Galaxy Note 7. TechnoBuffalo will be covering the unveiling live from New York, but check back before then for more news as the hype around the upcoming phablet continues to grow.
