Asus Zenfone 3 Deluxe includes new Snapdragon 821 chip

The race to cram the latest specs into a mobile phone is essentially neck-and-neck-and-neck between a number of big manufacturers, but ASUS this week took a step toward being slightly ahead of the pack. Announced at Computex, the Zenfone 3 Deluxe is perhaps the most attractive smartphone on paper. Your wallet might disagree, however.

Here’s the list of specs that come inside this beast:

  • 5.7-inch 1080p display
  • 3,000mAh battery
  • USB-C
  • 6GB of RAM
  • Snapdragon 821 processor
  • 23-megapixel camera w/OIS and laser auto-focus (8-megapixel front)
  • 256GB of internal storage

That’s the highest-end model money can buy. Speaking of which, the Zenfone 3 Deluxe will run users around $780 when it launches later this year; that’s assuming you want the top model. If you don’t want the Snapdragon 821 chip, there are Snapdragon 820 versions set to hit Taiwan and Hong Kong in August.
