A new TV show focused on a family of mutants is coming to FOX, Marvel revealed on Tuesday. Very few details about the show have been revealed but big names are already attached to write and produce, including Lauren Shuler Donner, Bryan Singer, Simon Kinberg, Jeph Loeb and Jim Chory. Matt Nix will write the pilot script.

“There’s comic book adventure, emotional and complicated relationships, and a rich, existing mythology from which to draw,” said David Madden, President, Entertainment, Fox Broadcasting Company. “With the brilliant production crew behind this project, it has all the makings of a big, fun and exciting new series.”

While details for the show are scarce, Marvel did say the Untitled project will tell the story of two ordinary parents who discover their children possess mutant powers. They’ll then be forced to go on the run, where they join up with an underground network of mutants. Sounds like the plot to every X-Men movie.

Marvel has several successful TV shows under its belt already, including Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Daredevil and Jessica Jones. Fox, meanwhile, already airs Gotham and Lucifer, the latter of which is coming off a successful debut season.

Today’s announcement is a “put pilot commitment,” which means FOX has agreed to air the pilot either as a special or series. We’ll update once we know more.
