“Pokémon GO Adventure” unofficial Facebook event attracts thousands of fans

Pokémon GO may not be perfect, but it’s already a huge hit. Case in point, a public Facebook event for a “Pokémon GO Adventure” created by some random fans has already attracted thousands of people.

The event, which is set to kick off on August 6 at noon and last until midnight, currently has 3,200 “going” and another 11,000 that are “interested.” To be clear, this isn’t an official Pokémon event. It’s just something three friends came up with together that went viral on Facebook. Whether it actually happens next month remains to be seen.

If you decide to join in on the massive Pokémon GO adventure, the plan is to meet at the flagship Nintendo World store in Manhattan and then walk up to Central Park, presumably catching Pokémon along the way. To be honest, I’m pretty intrigued. I’d check it out for myself, but I’ll be out of town that weekend.

If you’re in the New York area and eager to meet up with some like-minded Pokémon fans, it could be a fun way to spend your weekend. Hit the source link below to sign up on Facebook.
