OnePlus X isn’t quite dead yet

It’s not the end of the road for the ultra-affordable OnePlus X just yet. The device will not be replaced by a successor, but small quantities of the existing model will be available over the coming months for those who still want to bag one.

OnePlus confirmed shortly after the launch of the OnePlus 3 that it would focus solely on one smartphone going forward. That means there will be no OnePlus X2, and no plans to continue producing the original model for any significant period of time.

But you haven’t quite missed out on the OnePlus X just yet.

“We will have limited stock of the OnePlus X Ceramic and Onyx available over the next few months,” OnePlus confirmed in a statement this week. However, “the OnePlus X Champagne has already sold out and will not be replenished.”

OnePlus adds that it will continue to support the OnePlus X for the foreseeable future in the same way that it supports the rest of its smartphones.

If you were hoping to pick up a OnePlus X before it was discontinued, then, it looks like you’ll get one final chance. However, you’ll have to keep an eye on the stock levels to be sure you can claim one before they’re all gone.
