Need for Speed, Unravel free on EA Access next week, Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare 2 later this summer

EA’s gorgeous 2015 racer Need for Speed and their adorable platformer Unravel will soon be very easy to play if you’re playing on Xbox One. Next week, on July 12, both games will appear on EA’s Access service on the Xbox One platform. Next month, on August 30, Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 2 will join them.

EA Access is $4.99 a month, or $29.99 a year – a pretty low price to pay for some solid games. They join games like Dragon Age: Inquisition, Peggle 2, Battlefield: Hardline, and a whole host of EA Sports titles, making it one of the cheapest ways to get gaming on the system.

It’s disappointing to see Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 2 on the service so quickly – that tell us how poorly it must’ve done at retail. The game only hit toward the end of this last winter, and will have only been out six months by the time it’s hitting Access.

That should, however, give the game a player boost, so make sure to hop in for some more play when it goes live next month.

If you’re playing on PC, you can score 10 hours with Need for Speed – the full game – for free without even joining the similar Origin Access service.
