The OnePlus 3 is getting its first significant software update since making its official debut last month. The release adds an sRGB display mode, makes changes to RAM management, enhances audio playback quality, and more.
The most exciting change with this update is the sRGB display option. There have been very few complaints about the OnePlus 3 since it launched, but many reviewers were keen to point out that its new AMOLED display just didn’t live up to expectations.
OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei said he was “sick and tired” of those complaints, and vowed to address them. Less than two weeks later, the first OnePlus 3 update is here to do exactly that. Here are some of the other changes it brings:
- Improved RAM management
- Improved GPS performance
- Enhanced audio playback quality
- Updated custom icon packs
- Fixed some issues with notifications
- Improved camera quality/functionality
- Fixed some issues in Gallery
- Latest Google security patches
- Fixed bugs in Clock/Music apps
The update weighs in at 396MB, and because the OnePlus 3 isn’t tied to a carrier, you shouldn’t have to wait too long for it if you haven’t already received it. You can search for it manually from within the Software Update section of the Settings app.
