Aston Martin took the wraps off of the Aston Martin AM-RB 001 Hypercar on Tuesday, the company’s brand new “ground breaking vehicle.” The car was developed with help from Red Bull Racing and still technically carries the code name AM-RB 001.
“Built around a lightweight carbon fibre structure, the AM-RB 001 boasts truly radical aerodynamics for unprecedented levels of downforce in a road-legal car,” the company said, noting that a racetrack variant is also in development. The Aston Martin AM-RB 001 features a V12 engine that’s capable of a 1:1 power to weight ratio, Aston Martin said, adding that the suspension system and transmission have been completely rethought by its engineers and the folks on the Red Bull Racing team.
Aston Martin said it will produce the AM-RB 001 Hypercar at its Gaydon production facility and that just 99-150 road-ready Am-RB 001 vehicles will be made. There will also be 25 track models. The car is set to make its debut in two years. Aston Martin did not reveal the price tag.
