Directors oftentimes require actors to film the same scene over and over, even if they’re getting good takes. While this doesn’t sound like the worst thing in the world, anytime you repeat something multiple times, it can start to feel monotonous. In the case of Kit Harington, it could make you sleepy.
Because so much story was needed to be told before Jon Snow was brought back to life early in season 6 of Game of Thrones, all that was required of Harington was to pretend to be dead; just lay there, relax, and don’t move. In an interview with W online, the actor revealed he actually fell asleep because of how long he was required to lay there.
“I was lying down for so many hours for two whole episodes I remember I fell asleep in the middle of a scene,” Harington said.
Even worse, Harington said once he woke up, he remained in a strange sleepy haze and didn’t realize where he was.
“You know when you wake up and you don’t know quite where you are?” Harington asked. “There’s nothing scarier than waking up in the middle of the Game of Thrones world naked and everyone standing over you thinking, ‘Oh my god, I’ve died and I’ve actually ended up in Westeros.’”
Not only did Harington fall asleep during one of the show’s most crucial moments, he did so while wearing Ugg boots, too. Hopefully, the newly appointed King in the North manages to stay awake once the big war gets underway.
