If you’re looking for a fun and educational summer project for the kids, you might want to consider the new “Speaker Cube” from Bose. It’s a new do-it-yourself Bluetooth speaker that’s the first such device in Bose’s new “BOSEBuild” category of products.
The BOSEBuild Speaker Cube kit will educate kids (or adults!) on how a speaker’s parts work while also offering what should be a high-quality finished product. “Its instructions involve discovery and education – from how a simple magnet and coil make sound, to how a speaker reproduces music,” Bose said, noting that a companion app can be used to walk you through the assembly process.
There doesn’t appear to be too much tinkering required, after all, the $150 BOSEBuild Speaker Cube does actually need to perform after you’re finished building it. Still, you’ll be able to add your own flare with “colored lights and silhouette covers.”
The BOSEBuild Speaker Cube is available starting now from build.bose.com. The company says it should be used by kids ages 8 and older.
