Samsung’s new ad isn’t a carbon copy of Apple’s. It appears to consist of stock footage shot by the company, rather than a short clip recorded by regular people. The background music is also pretty generic compared to the trendy songs used in recent “Shot in iPhone” clips. Samsung’s video feels less like a polished ad and more like some slapped together sample footage. It still looks beautiful, though, highlighting the Galaxy S7’s excellent 4K UHD camera and features like time-lapse and slow motion. But it probably won’t be getting paid TV placement to compete directly with those “Shot on iPhone” clips.
The Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge really do pack a great primary camera. Samsung also released a similar camera-focused ad in the past to promote its Galaxy Camera, so technically it was first to the game, but the timing here seems like it was trying to Take a closer look in the gallery below and check out one Apple’s new ads before deciding for yourself.
