CD Projekt Red knows things about the Nintendo NX. Communications Manager Fabian Mario Döehla went as far as saying the NX “will be spectacular.”
Of course major developers and publishers get early access to consoles. They’re part of special presentations and they receive development kits in order to potentially have software ready for the new platform’s launch. CD Projekt Red, thanks to the success of The Witcher, is a games maker that has enough clout to be part of these early discussions.
Döehla spoke with Rocket Beans TV at E3, a German YouTube channel. That interview was translated by a site called Nintengen. Here’s the rundown.
“It will be fantastic…As developer [CD Projekt] you get access to the hardware and everybody [at CD Projekt] is looking forward. We know things.”
Döehla added that the Wii was immediately loved in Japan but took time to grow on Europe; the NX, so far, has had a “very positive” reception among developers.
Döehla acknowledges that the NX will certainly not be as powerful as the new Xbox One Microsoft is cooking up under codename Scorpio. Döehla then offers this isn’t Nintendo’s stance, anyway. The NX “will be spectacular,” it seems, in spite of this.
