Say what you want about the market saturation of military shooters with a heavy emphasis on online multiplayer, Battlefield 1 at least looks like its creators are trying something different.
I did not have a chance to go hands-on with the game at E3 2016 last week, so I’ve turned to YouTube for some impressions on the game. This video, as I caught it on Polygon, comes from gaming channel Jackfrags. In it, we see a round of Battlefield 1 with the player using a sniper rifle in conjunction with a bayonet to rack up kills.
What do you think of Battlefield 1 so far? Is the World War I setting enough to push you to picking it up, or have you had your fill of these games? Personally, I’m on the fence. I really dig the setting, but I’m one of those weirdos that loves single player campaigns just as much as multiplayer. If DICE nails the campaign, and I’m not sure they can given their recent track record, I’m all in.
Battlefield 1 will release for the PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One platforms on October 21, 2016.
