Alleged list of Marvel’s Phase 4 and 5 plans is probably fake

In no way are we passing this list off as anything but baloney. But we still thought it would be fun to entertain it not for the sake of discussion. We’re only one movie deep into Phase 3, so the chances of Marvel having a definitive list of movies planned beyond the current slate of announced films is highly suspect. I’m sure the studio has a general idea of what’s to come but not the next 15 movies after the end of Phase 3.

In any case, the list you see below originates from 4chan of all places and claims Marvel has plans to move to four movies a year starting in 2021. If you’re not burned out by comic books movies now, you ain’t seen nothing yet.

Here’s the list:

  • Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 – May 1, 2020
  • Spider-Man: Coming of Age – July 10, 2020
  • Doctor Strange 2 – Nov. 6, 2020
  • Black Widow – March 5, 2021
  • Inhumans – May 7, 2021
  • Black Panther 2 – July 9, 2021
  • Ant-Man 3 – Nov. 5, 2021
  • The Winter Soldier – Feb. 4, 2022
  • The New Avengers – May 6, 2022
  • Nova – July 8, 2022
  • Captain Marvel 2 – Nov. 4, 2022
  • Sentry/Spider-Woman – March 3, 2023
  • Inhumans 2 – May 5, 2023
  • Spider-Man: Greatness Awaits – July 7, 2023
  • Doctor Strange 3 – Nov. 3, 2023

Not a bad list, right? Too bad it’s probably completely bogus. Marvel has said its lineup will probably look much different beyond Avengers: Infinity War Part 2, and this list certainly reflects that sentiment. However, it just seems way too absurd for there to be no Captain America, no Hulk, no Iron Man, and no Thor. Robert Downey Jr. has already hinted he’d be willing to do an Iron Man 4, and considering how much his solo movies have made, Marvel wouldn’t just stop making them.

It also seems weird the titles for Spider-Man are already finalized. (I feel like these are the titles that were rumored before Homecoming was officially unveiled.) Plus, Spider-Man will be an established player before those films drop, so they don’t really feel like they jive with the growth of the character.

I know it’s extremely difficult to keep a lid on leaks in the internet age, especially when movies are in production. But seeing an entire roadmap leak out like this when Phase 3 has only just begun? Seems highly unlikely. In any case, we thought we’d bring it to your attention just for kicks.
