Apple reveals Home app on iOS for controlling your smart home

Apple is finally making smart home control easier with a new app called Home for iOS 10.

Home makes it easy to control all your smart devices. You can do that individually or create specific scenes to manage multiple products at once. For example, you could turn off all the lights by pressing a single button, or switch them on in the morning with a different scene.

Home is also integrated right into the new Control Center for iOS 10. You’ll see a list of your favorite accessories so you can switch them on or off quickly.

Home is a full-fledged app with a ton of other capabilities. You can even check your connected front door camera from your iPhone locks screen.

Apple TV also plays a central role in your smart home if you have one. As soon as you walk in the door your Apple TV will sense you’re home and start switching on the lights, music and anything else.

Home make be a few years late to arrive but it still sounds pretty sweet. We’re looking forward to trying it out once we get iOS 10 up and running.
