Motorola introduced the Moto Z on Thursday. It sounds like a really awesome phone, complete with the latest Snapdragon 820 processor and more. Buried in the news, however, was a missing spec: the 3.5mm headphone jack.
That’s right, Motorola technically beat Apple to ditching the audio jack on its flagship smartphone. Not that it really matters, but people have been discussing the pros-and-cons of this in Apple circles, worried about Cupertino ditching the 3.5mm headphone port on the iPhone 7, all the while Motorola had already pulled it.
Users will simply need to pick up a USB-C cable or join the rest of the world with a Bluetooth pair of headphones. Not really a big deal to most of us, though certainly to audiophiles who care about this sort of thing, and USB-C to 3.5mm headphone adapters should be pretty cheap.
Worth noting, though, in case you cared that, confirmed, there is not a 3.5mm headphone jack on the Moto Z.
