Oh, so Psychonauts came to the PlayStation 4 this week after all

Someone at Double Fine or Sony is really playing mind games with its fanbase. On Monday, the cult-classic Psychonauts mysteriously appeared in a PlayStation Blog update as a PlayStation 4 release. On Tuesday, Sony stated that the game would be coming to the PlayStation 4 in the near future, but “not this week.”

And here we are on Wednesday, and whoops! There it is, the PS2 Classic version sitting right there on the PlayStation Store! Confusion? Leaks? Mind games? A strange retelling of The Very Hungry Caterpillar? I don’t know, but Raz and his psychedelic adventure are now totally playable on the PlayStation 4.

Keep in mind, though, the PlayStation 2 version of the game is, by far, considered the worst of the three originals. Frame rate issues, motion blur, crammed resolution problems. You name it. Maybe the new PlayStation 2 emulation on the PlayStation 4 has given it the boost it needs to be on par with the PC and original Xbox builds.

Let us know what you think if you pick up Psychonauts for the PlayStation 4.
