We’re just one day away from Lenovo Tech World, where the company is expected to reveal its new Moto Z Android smartphones. Today we’re getting a bit more information on the upcoming smartphone thanks to a teaser from Lenovo revealing an exciting new camera feature.
The teaser, which was shared by Lenovo through its official Weibo account, suggests the Moto Z will offer 10x optical zoom. However, it sounds like this feature could be available through one of the company’s rumored MotoMod backplates, which are expected to attach via a magnetic port. The teaser image actually focuses on the rumored port, and an accompanying message mentions “16 magnetic points” and 10x optical zoom in the same line.
This could be a reference to the rumored Hasselblad camera MotoMod, which leaked last month. Lenovo is also expected to offer special backplates with JBL speakers and one with a projector. It could even sell “Style Mods” with various designs and materials to cover the back of the device.
The Moto Z is expected to pack plenty of power on its own. Lenovo may actually offer two different versions, selling Moto Z Style and Moto Z Play variants of the flagship phone. The Moto Z Style could feature a super-slim 5.2mm frame with a 5.5-inch Quad HD display while the Moto Z Play allegedly offers packs a thicker frame with a larger battery inside.
Both devices are likely to debut tomorrow at Lenovo Tech World. We’ll be covering the entire event live from San Francisco, so stay tuned for the latest news on the Moto Z Style, Moto Z Play and anything else unveiled at the event.
