After seeing Black Panther turn up in Captain America: Civil War, Chadwick Boseman’s solo turn as the Wakandan superhero has become one of Marvel’s most anticipated movies. And plenty of rumors say it’ll have an All-Star cast, too, led by a director, Ryan Coogler, whose reputation continues to grow. But, wait, there might be a curveball you weren’t expecting.
Okay, to be fair, we actually did expect this to happen, but it’s comments like these that give us hope. Yes, there are spoilers ahead if you haven’t seen Civil War.
After the events of Civil War, Bucky and Cap are found hiding out in a secret laboratory in Wakanda, where Black Panther provides solace for the two renegades. However, we quickly learn that Bucky, who can snap back into his assassin persona when the right sequence of words are spoken, is being turned back into a popsicle while a cure is made.
Turns out, he might not stay that way for long.
When speaking at Philly Comic Con over the weekend, actor Sebastian Stan said Bucky “should be in” Black Panther, which, yeah, makes sense. Just because Stan says his character should be in a movie doesn’t mean he will. But seeing as we last saw Bucky, Captain America, and Black Panther hanging out together, it makes sense they’d show up in the same movie once more—at least ahead of Avengers: Infinity War.
Here’s Stan’s exact quote:
Where did he end up at the end of the movie? That’s the movie he should be in.
We’ll see what happens when Black Panther hits theaters in February 2018.
